About Elstree Soaps
Hi, I’m Hannah Capocci-Hunt, the founder and maker behind Elstree Soaps!
My journey into skincare has been anything but straightforward. I began by studying neuroscience and completed an MSc in Physiology of Health and Disease at the University of Nottingham. After university, I opened my own pole dance fitness studio in Nottingham called Twisted Pole. I ran the business for several years before selling it in 2017 and moving into the tech world as a software engineer.
My interest in skincare started much closer to home. When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I suddenly became very aware of what I was putting on my skin and how important ingredient choices really are. That awareness stayed with me and eventually led me to explore making my own products.
In 2021, I discovered soapmaking and completely fell in love with the craft. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a passion, and by December 2022 I launched Elstree Soaps, a small independent business that I run entirely on my own from Hertfordshire.
Today, I create beautiful, award-winning skincare products that are kind to your skin and gentle on the environment. My range includes soaps, shampoo bars, clay masks and botanical bath salts. Everything is handmade in small batches, which means no two bars of soap are ever exactly the same.
I am passionate about using high-quality natural ingredients and essential oils, and about keeping my environmental impact as low as possible. All products are vegan except for my honey soap. Everything is palm oil-free and free from artificial fragrances.
